Network Engineer
L3 Communication Systems-West is currently seeking an experienced, Top Secret cleared, Network Engineer for our contract at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey.
The Network Engineer will maintain Network Operations Center per DoD Netops governance and procedures. The Network Engineer will be responsible for:
Provide: operations support; daily coordination and network optimization; monitor the status of the network and when an incident occurs take corrective action.
Responsible for managing and maintaining routers, switches, and crypto devices, using Solar Winds to manage network devices, etc.
Serve as a Tier 1 Help Desk. Provide Tier 1 support. Operators monitor the system to ensure efficient utilization and allocation of network and computer resources and facilities to maintain satisfactory availability and performance.
Use available diagnostic tools to analyze and troubleshoot computer and network system to remedy problems and to identify potential problems and develop solutions before outages occur.
Coordinate Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) schedules and ASI execution.
Meet IA workforce requirements defined in United States Department of Defense (US DoD) Directive 8570.01-M.

Clearance: Top Secret clearance with eligibility to SCI
Certifications: CCNA and Sec
An ABET (EAC/CAC) accredited Bachelor's of Science Degree in IT is strongly preferred, a equivalent technical education with 2-8 years related experience will be considered.
Experience: 2 years Networks experience; NOC background preferred; experience installing, maintaining and managing mobile, radio or STACOM communications a plus.
Must be willing/able to travel to an alternate work location, if required, to maintain essential mission functions in the event of a system disruption, compromise, or failure
Must be available to work a 12 hour shift
Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.
Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
